The Color Care Team handles follow-up to help turn test results into timely care. Far too many people face delays or barriers to care simply because of where they live, what they earn, or what insurance coverage they have. Whether someone is navigating screening, diagnosis, or survivorship, they won\u2019t have to do it alone. In June 2023, Color and the American Cancer Society (ACS) introduced a cancer screening and prevention program for employers and labor organizations, combining the ACS\u2019s expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color\u2019s leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery. Color provides a more connected, direct, and proactive approach by assessing cancer risk and making screening more accessible, accelerating time to diagnosis, guiding patients through treatment, and providing care and support for survivors. The solution combines the ACS\u2019s expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color\u2019s leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery, enabling organizations and individuals to a) detect cancer earlier and b) manage cancer more effectively. In the continuing spirit of access, the White House recently highlighted our joint pledge with the American Cancer Society to provide free at-home colorectal cancer screenings for uninsured and under-insured individuals. Color and ACS have launched a pilot to distribute free at-home FIT kits\u2014used for colorectal cancer screening\u2014through federally qualified health centers and community clinics serving rural and underserved populations.<\/p>\n

At the time, genetic tests for ovarian and breast cancer risk typically cost several thousand dollars, and access was often gated through long wait times for genetic counseling appointments at centers of excellence. In 2015, Color launched with a new clinical genetic testing model to help patients understand and take action on their personal risk of cancer. Rates of cancer screening, stage of detection, and treatment outcomes reflect some of the deepest disparities in American healthcare. The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nonprofit organization that routinely publishes guidelines, and as part of this program, ACS contributes its expertise and educational materials on cancer screening and prevention and connects participants who contact ACS with ACS cancer-related information. In response, Color launched a free nationwide lung cancer screening support service based on ACS\u2019s guidelines\u2014helping people understand eligibility, access scans, and get guided support along the way.<\/p>\n

This affordable model has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals take action on their genetic risk.
